I’m Janis, sole proprietor of My Loc Lounge and I am excited to bring my expertise as a Sisterlock®Practitioner to the Augusta Georgia community. Situated right between the bustling cities of Atlanta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina, I am perfectly positioned to serve clients from both areas, locally and in-between.

My journey with Sisterlocks® has been a transformative one. From initially hesitating about having locked hair to falling in love with the look, I have come a long way. Once I began my own Sisterlocks® journey in 2005, I quickly realized the importance of learning how to maintain them properly.

In 2011, I took the initiative to further my knowledge and skills by enrolling in a class to be a Certified Sisterlocks® Praactioner. This provided me with the necessary tools and techniques to ensure that I could not only maintain my own locks but also offer these services to others.

In 2012, while living in South Korea, the opportunity presented itself for me to do my first Sisterlocks installation. At a hotel in Daegu, I successfully completed the installation, and the word soon spread throughout the South Pacific. It was incredible to see people from diverse backgrounds, including military personnel, spouses, American teachers, and military civilians, seeking me out to either have their Sisterlocks installed or maintained.

Now, in my current home in the Augusta, Georgia area, I have a burning desire to be the loctician of choice for this community. I understand that you may need to drive a bit to reach me, but I am committed to making it worth your while.

My dedication to providing exceptional service, combined with my years of experience and ongoing education in the field, ensures that each client will have a positive and fulfilling Sisterlocks experience. Whether it's the installation of new locks, maintenance of existing ones, or helpful advice and guidance on caring for locked hair, I am here to deliver exceptional results.
